The merger of Power Towers with JLG<\/a> will be the focus in the immediate future. In line with this, the Power Towers team now has another color palette, orange and gray, which is closely aligned with JLG’s overall image. The latest and greatest scissor from Hy-Brid Lifts is the 6-meter PS-1930. It is the continuation of low-rise lifting platforms in its 3 and 4 meter range. “While many projects can be carried out with these lower lifts, the benefits of a 6-metre lift are undeniable.” <\/p>\n And, as Justin Kissinger, vice president of marketing at Hy-Brid Lifts, adds: “In fact, years of studies have shown that 85% of jobs can be done with a lower lift, although the 6-meter market is still the most popular.” Customers were asking for a taller lift, so we delivered.” <\/p>\n The PS-1930 also complies with the new ANSI A92.20 standards, which require higher rail height and resulted in some manufacturers putting folding rails on their machines. “We were able to keep the non-folding rails on the PS-1930, saving the operator the time of having to go out and fold the rails before going through the standard doors.” <\/p>\n Ultimately, the goal of the PS-1930 was to have a machine that could perform various functions, as it could be used for low height, as well as a standard 6-meter lift and the first Hy-Brid Lifts product to be certified for outdoor use. The total weight of the machine is less than 900 kg, allowing access in elevators and other weight-restricted areas. Service was also a key consideration in the design of the product. Rotating open access trays provide easy entry and the diamond-coated platform surface provides a long-lasting gripping surface without the need to replace the grip tape. <\/p>\n Molly Frank, Genie’s product manager, Terex AWP, says: “Whether it’s a data warehouse full of sensitive servers, or a grocery store with full shelves, compact machines are being favoured and adjustments are being made to the rental fleet mix. The trend towards safety and low-rise lifting is something we see on a global scale. Many European nations were the first to adopt the approach to safety in an architectural landscape that requires compact and lightweight equipment.”<\/p>\n At the larger end of the low-rise boom lift family, Snorkel also recently expanded its electrically driven telescopic mast lifts, with the introduction of the TM16E, which offers a working height of 6.87 m and a lifting capacity of 227 kg. Rated for indoor use, the TM16E weighs 1,105kg and has a zero inside turning radius, making it ideal for aisle storage, especially when equipped with the optional order picking tray. Introduced in 2010, Snorkel also offers a range of three mini impulse scissor lifts, known as the S3006P, with a working height of 4m, the S3008P 4.5m and the S3010P 5m. The three lifts have a platform capacity of 240 kg and weigh 310 kg, 350 kg and 370 kg, respectively. <\/p>\n The Turkish company ELS Lift<\/a> has expanded its range of low-rise lift scissor lifts with the Junior 4.5. The new 4.5m tall model joins the existing 5.5m Junior 5.5 model, and both offer a basket capacity of 240kg. The compact models are designed to provide easy access through standard doors and to elevators. The Junior 4.5 has a platform that is 1.07 m long and 0.59 m wide. The high-capacity batteries of both models provide long working times, while the quick assembly and disassembly facilitates the transport of the machines, as well as saving time. <\/p>\n The company added that a third alternative model in the range, the Junior 5.5 SP, is the lightest machine in its class, weighing 660kg. It offers a proportional joystick, automatic lounge doors and removable railings to save space during transport. Mathew Elvin, Managing Director of Snorkel, says: “The UK remains one of the strongest markets for low-rise lifting machinery, however, we are seeing increased demand across Europe, more specifically in France. The adoption of low-rise lifting machinery in the U.S. continues to increase at a moderate rate, especially focused on high-density urban areas such as the big cities of New York, San Francisco, etc. During the reconstruction in Christchurch after the 2011 earthquake, we saw a significant increase in demand for low-rise lifting platforms in New Zealand.”<\/p>\n As for the UK, Instant Upright has relaunched its low-rise platform offering in recent months. The initial range of electric models consists of the MX1430 6.4m, MX1930 7.8m electric scissor lifts and the 10m working height MX 2632, and two impulse models, the 6m MX1330 working height scissor lift and the 12m Joe Oxley, Group Managing Director of Instant UpRight, said at the time of the launch: “The company is no stranger to the AWP market and there is still strong brand awareness present \u2013 the return of the blue Instant UpRight machines presents us with an exciting challenge that is welcomed by the entire team.”<\/p>\n Produced in conjunction with a Chinese manufacturing partner, Instant UpRight said it would evaluate and redesign the models as needed to suit market demand, adding its own branding to a brand name that is still highly regarded by many in the industry.<\/p>\n The company has a distribution center in the Netherlands, which will allow it to grow these products throughout Europe.
