Companies in the construction or industrial sector can own or rent them.   <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In all cases, the most important thing is to ensure that they have up-to-date maintenance, revisions and inspections to ensure the safety of the user and verify that the machine works with good performance.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While you don&#8217;t always feel like spending time on these tasks, users and site managers will find that it&#8217;s worth every minute if the scissor lifts are &#8220;ready to work&#8221; and still perform at their best.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before starting to work with a scissor platform,<\/span><b> the manager should check: <\/b> <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Workplace inspection site inspection.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Visual inspection of the platform.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Functional test.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>The platform has up-to-date maintenance.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  As well as the functional tests, as indicated in the machine operator&#8217;s manuals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>Workplace inspection.  <\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>A jobsite inspection helps the operator determine if the jobsite is a suitable and safe space to operate the scissor lift.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>The operator must perform this inspection before moving the scissor lift to the job site.  <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>The operator&#8217;s manual <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is a good resource for identifying the most common hazards that can be encountered on job sites, and it&#8217;s always a good idea to check with your site supervisor or safety manager about hazards unique to a particular job site.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>In any workplace at height, scissor lift operators must be aware of the following dangerous situations and avoid them.  <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>For example:  <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Descents or holes<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Potholes, obstacles in the ground, or debris<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Sloped surfaces<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Unstable or slippery surfaces<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Obstructions at the top<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>High voltage conductors<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Surface support inadequate to withstand all forces imposed by the machine<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Wind and adverse weather conditions<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>The presence of unauthorized personnel<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>All other possibly unsafe conditions<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is important for operators to always remember that it is their responsibility to read the guidelines for the daily maintenance of scissor lift platforms before starting work.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>And remember workplace hazards, as well as monitor and avoid these risks while moving, installing, and handling MEWPs.  <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If in doubt, operators should stop work and consult the site supervisor or safety manager.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>Visual inspection of the platform<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><strong>The pre-operation inspection is a visual inspection that must be carried out by the operator before each work shift. This inspection is designed to find out if there is anything seemingly wrong with a machine before the operator performs the functional tests.   <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Pre-operation inspection is also used to determine if routine maintenance procedures are required.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, the operator should inspect the wheels, lifting mechanism, and platform for any damage, which should be repaired before use.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once repairs have been made, the operator should perform a pre-operation inspection again before moving on to functional testing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>Functional test<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>At LIFTISA, we believe that safety comes first<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
