Safety and efficiency in working at heights can be improved by using Mobile Elevating Work Platforms. Platform lifts allow access to confined spaces and reduce the risk of falls. In addition, the worker can work comfortably without overexertion, fatigue and pain. They also improve productivity by allowing more workers to perform work at height safely.
Liftisa has a wide variety of elevating platforms, for use indoors or outdoors. Once the ground or surface where the work is to be carried out has been analysed, we will select the work platform best suited to these needs. Liftisa elevating work platforms are ideal for use on any type of ground. Thanks to their design, they are able to access small and narrow spaces easily, making them perfect for places that are difficult to access.

The electric elevating work platforms listed in our catalogue are very quiet and are suitable for work at night or in spaces requiring silence. Nevertheless, manual elevating work platforms are the quietest and most flexible. We offer two models, the Pecolift and the Ecolift, both manufactured by Power Tower.
To determine whether the elevating work platform is suitable for use on a slope, please see the technical specifications for the specific model and the manufacturer’s instructions on working on slopes. In these instructions we will see if the platform lift can work on a slope and at what degree of inclination and if it has the option of adding stabilisers.
The size of the elevating work platform required depends on the work and the height you wish to reach. Depending on this, a higher or lower platform is required with a larger or smaller load capacity. If you need a small platform lift because you are going to carry out work at a low height (up to 6 metres working height), you can follow the links below:
If you need to carry out work at a height of more than 6 metres in an enclosed area, you can see the options available here:
If the work at height is an outdoor work, visit the following pages:
There are many types and models of platform lifts. In our fleet we have the small platform lift (or Low Level Access) range and its smallest size is 1.6 metres high, 1 metre long and 0.7 metres wide. We also have lifting platforms up to 16 metres, 1,2 metres wide and up to 6,7 metres long. To see all our platforms and their technical characteristics you can do it entering in the page of Rental of elevating platforms or Sale of elevating platforms. Once there, select your work requirement and you will see all the products and their technical characteristics.
Anyone who needs to work at height and wants to use a platform lift must have specific training according to the UNE-58923:2014 Standard. To find out more, please see our Lift Work Platform Training page.
In the event of an accident, it must be demonstrated to the Labour Inspectorate that the workers operating the lifting platform had the necessary knowledge to do so with maximum safety.
Lifting platforms are mainly divided into two groups:
- Group A: These are those in which the vertical projection of the centre of gravity (c.o.g.) of the load is always inside the tipping lines.
- Group B: These are those where the vertical projection of the g.o.c. of the load may be on the outside of the tipping lines.
The maximum load capacity of the platform lift will depend on the type of platform, model and working height. Platform lifts can have a load capacity ranging from 150 kg to more than 450 kg in case of material lifts.
Platform lifts are primarily versatile machines that are used to lift and move people, tools or materials to a working position in inaccessible areas at height. Platform lifts allow the work to be carried out safely and efficiently.
Articulated aerial lifts are lifting platforms that are equipped with an articulated arm that allows reaching places that are difficult to access. These platform lifts are perfect for working at heights in confined spaces and when obstacles are encountered directly below the working area, as they can rotate on their own axis and avoid the obstacle.
Type A MEWPs are those where the vertical projection of the centre of gravity (c.o.g.) of the load is always inside the tipping lines.
The UNE 58923 standard establishes the operator requirements and training procedures for the performance, use and safe operation of the different groups and types of mobile elevating platforms (MEWPs).
The elements that make up the MEWPs (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms) will vary according to the type of operation to be carried out. Most MEWPs have the following elements: Working platform, extendable structure, chassis and complementary elements such as stabilisers….
Aerial work platforms (or MEWPs) are used to lift and move people, tools or materials to a workstation when they are in areas that are difficult to access. The lifting platform allows the work to be carried out safely and efficiently.
There are different types of lifting platforms. The most common are:
- Articulated boom lifts
- Telescopic boom lifts
- Scissor lifts
- One-person elevating work platforms
- …
A platform lift can weigh between 150 kg and up to 7230 kg, which can be the weight of the articulated arms.
Articulated platforms are a class of lifting platforms and are characterised by an articulated arm, attached to a machine base or chassis at one end and a lifting basket at the other end. . Articulated platforms are mainly used in small or difficult-to-access areas.
The weight of electric or diesel scissor lifts will depend on the working height or load capacity. The greater the height and the load capacity, the greater the weight of the scissor platform. The approximate weight of electric and diesel scissor platforms ranges from 880 kg to 3000 kg.
One-person elevating work platforms can only be used by one person in the basket or on the platform at the same time. With the other elevating platforms, the area of the basket or the load capacity will determine whether one or two people can use the platform at the same time.
Electric or diesel scissor lifts consist of a hydraulic system that provides the power required to raise or lower the platform. The scissor control is located on the platform or basket and is used to control the desired movement.
Scissor lifts are lifting platforms powered by a hydraulic system. They are called electric or diesel scissors because of their appearance when in operation and at a certain altitude, reminiscent of scissors.
A platform lift is a type of multifunctional machine that is used to lift people, load materials or tools in a workplace at a certain height or with difficult access. If the lifting platform is electric or diesel, it will have a control table with a joystick from where the movement will be controlled.
A scaffold is a platform used to climb to different heights. It is a temporary construction, serving as external support in projects and structures of varying kinds. It can reach different heights, up to 14 metres.
According to the European scaffolding standard, UNE-EN 12811-1, the load capacity of the scaffolding can range from 75 kg per square metre to 600 kg per square metre.
Scaffolds are divided into two main parts: the body of the scaffold, formed by the diagonal braces, the frame, plates… and the auxiliary elements such as the rail, platform or stabilisers.
