What types of forklifts are there?

Forklifts are used to transport and lift loads, and they continue to be a key element for the productivity of a company. Time remains one of the most precious and scarce commodities of any business.

Many companies, believe it or not, today still think that a forklift is a luxury item, but nothing could be further from the truth. Can you imagine having to unload a trailer with only human effort? Reach Truck

The most significant forklift for handling loads in warehouses is the electric forklift with a reach mast, i.e. the reach truck.

This machine moves the mast between the load beams and allows, at the same time, to move the center of gravity of the load towards the center of gravity of the machine. This increases the stability of the assembly, making it possible to access large lifts without risk without substantial loss of load capacity in the lift.

The reach truck, due to its adaptability, reliability and performance, can be considered as the ideal one for handling loads in conventional warehouses.

Trilateral Wheelbarrow

The name trilateral forklift comes from its ability to load and unload the material it transports on three sides: front, right and left.
These forklifts are ideal for working in narrow aisles, thanks to them, the storage capacity is considerably increased.
The three-way truck can reach load lifting heights of over 14 meters.

Electric pallet truck and stacker

This type of machine can be pedestrian-driven, ride-on, either standing or sitting.

The operation of the electric pallet truck and the electric stacker is very similar with the difference that the latter can load-unload at height.

The electric pallet truck is ideal for transporting goods within warehouses, logistics centres or factories. For loading and unloading in confined spaces or for low-level order picking. They work with batteries that provide an autonomy of 8 to 10 hours.

The electric stacker is adapted to work in small spaces, oriented to work in the small space that is usually in the aisles between racks, since its design is very compact and its configuration is tricycle to gain maneuverability in turns.

Telescopic Trolley

This type of machine has a similar structure to counterbalanced front forklifts with a mast, but replaces the mast with a telescopic arm.
Telescopic forklifts are used to reach places that other machines can’t.

The use of the telescopic forklift can be very wide: earthmoving, as an aerial work platform, as a tractor, forklift or crane. They are widely used in agriculture and industry.

Forklifts pick orders

Order picking machines can be assimilated to pallet trucks or electric stackers with the difference that the operator travels between the load and the counterweight and motor of the machine.
These machines are really an evolution of pallet trucks or stackers.

Order pickers, designed to facilitate picking tasks in warehouses, are the perfect solution for moving and handling goods between shelves and reception areas.

This type of order picking machines is used in the picking of different goods in the same load, usually in narrow aisles and with high storage.
