Can I use an indoor forklift outdoors?

INDOOR MACHINES

To begin with, the lifting machines designed to work indoors have special wheels. It is not the same to work on a flat and smooth pavement, as it is to work on a slope or unevenness and with uneven terrain. The same thing happens here as with sports and walking shoes.

These wheels are not manufactured or designed to receive gusts of wind or, for example, to work on slopes. These wheels are special so as not to scratch the pavement.

These machines are usually not prepared to work outdoors. If the working conditions outside were very, very favourable, such as working inside a pavilion, perhaps they could be used.

Electric machines are the most commonly used indoors. In addition to not emitting noise, they do not pollute, that is, they do not emit toxic gases.

Indoor machines are usually smaller, because in this way, the sites of a warehouse, industrial building, pavilion, etc. can be better accessed.

OUTDOOR MACHINES

These machines, designed and manufactured for outdoor work, are prepared for rougher terrain, and some even go up a step.

Some of the outdoor machines have larger, more adaptable wheels. Their grip systems are more sophisticated, whether they are designed with a counterweight or stabilizers. These are the leveling devices that stabilize and level the platform.

They are prepared to work outdoors except for weight and size, outdoor machines are more suitable for working indoors, than the other way around.

Diesel machines are the most suitable for working outdoors, as they have their own autonomy (they work with an internal combustion engine).

CONCLUSION

The conclusion, not all of them, will be set by the manufacturer. Sometimes it sets safety rules such as that 2 people can work indoors and only 1 outdoors, for example.
