Safe use of lifting platforms. 4 Safety Tips.
Our motto and goal is Safety First. And in elevation, always accompanied by the improvement of Efficiency.
Over the years, from innovation and always looking for the best solution for our Client, we have reinforced our premise: lifting platforms are not only a means of access, but they are a way of approaching work, prioritizing safety, efficiency and effectiveness.
At LIFTISA we can affirm that MEWPs are the best solution for working at height as they mainly promote safe and risk-free work at height. and maximize productivity.
The risks of falls working at height are significantly reduced when working with lifting platforms.
From here, let’s look at how to improve the safety of our teams every day with 4 simple steps.
Before you start working.
Work equipment and lifting platforms must be inspected daily. Before starting, the user should:
- Make sure that the machine is suitable for the nature of the work to be done. The manufacturer’s plate on the machine gives indications such as maximum height, power, fuel type, load capacity, number of people allowed in the basket. It is important to make sure before starting work.
- Inspect the work environment. It is necessary to find out and check the area in which to carry out the work (type of soil and stability).
- In outdoor work. Use extreme caution when working near power or communication lines.
- Check weather conditions. Mobile work lifting platforms should not be used in strong winds.
- Specific training for each lifting platform.
At LIFTISA, we are expert training consultants. The courses we have are aimed at the end user and comply with current legislation on the Use and Management of Lifting Platforms: Royal Decree 1215/1997, Occupational Risk Prevention Law 31/1995 and the UNE 58923:2014 standard.
The required MEWP Courses are:
- Vertical Static MEWP
- MEWP Static Arm
- PEMP Vertical Mobile
- Mobile arm MEWP.
At LIFTISA we organize and manage MEWP Courses for our Customers, in our Delegations or in-company, we take care of the entire registration and follow-up process.
The Courses consist of a Theoretical part that can be done online, optimizing dedication times, and a Practical part Face. Complete 8-hour courses to obtain the Lifting Platform Use and Handling License.
