Fall Protection requirements.
Safety first.
We must ensure that the men and women who operate with MEWPs, as part of their task, are safe, well protected. And that they can return home at the end of the day in the same condition they were in before they left. Maintaining security must be the priority.
The best way to make sure that everyone, in a workplace at height, meets these requirements is for everyone to know and understand them.
The Safety requirements to operate with MEWPs:
- Fall protection shall be provided in accordance with regulations for employees.
- The personal fall arrest system used in a MEWP must prevent the operator from falling more than 2 meters.
- A personal fall arrest system used in a boom or telescopic MEWP may not allow the operator to come into contact with any lower surface.
- We must ensure that the MEWP has carried out the relevant Maintenance, Annual Reviews and Technical Inspections.
- Anyone who must use MEWP must have received Training in Use and Handling and have the corresponding card.
For more information about the 6 MEWP Certificates and 6 MEWP Training Courses, you can consult our website, where you will find all the details of each one, as well as the content.
At LIFTISA, with our AENOR Certified training partner, we offer online and practical training, adapted to each of our customers’ needs.
The safe and proper use of personal fall protective equipment in any MEWP is the responsibility of the operator and the responsible superior.
And it is achieved through strict compliance with current regulations, the manufacturer’s manual, the Responsibilities Manual and the safety stickers found on the machine.
